Positioning the PottyGuard
Place the PottyGuard on the absorbent area of the pee pad to help prevent any spills. For best results, set the hydrant close to the guard panels—this helps guide your dog’s aim and keeps urine contained on the pad.

The PottyGuard works best with a 30" x 24" pee pad.
Preparing the Hydrant
Before introducing your dog to their new potty spot, be sure to scent the hydrant. You can use a pee training spray or transfer your dog’s scent by using a soiled pee pad or wiping a previous accident and applying it to the hydrant. This encourages your pup to use the designated area consistently.

Let all components air dry, or gently dry with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent streaks and water spots.

The Inspiration Story
PottyGuard was created for our pup, Teddy—a sweet Morkie and determined leg-lifter. As a new homeowner and new pet parent, I quickly saw how easily walls and floors could get damaged. We couldn’t find an indoor potty that actually worked: opaque walls made him anxious, raised platforms felt uncomfortable, and most options were bulky, messy, and not practical for condos, apartments, or small spaces.
As engineers, we wanted something simple, basic, and effective—no gimmicks. A design that solves the problem without complicating it, and stays affordable.
So we created a sleek, compact, portable potty that feels open for dogs, protects your home, and fits effortlessly into small spaces. A reliable indoor potty isn’t just convenient—it supports your dog’s comfort, confidence, and well-being.
PottyGuard was built out of love, real-life challenges, and a need shared by many pet families. We’re excited to share it with yours.

Does the PottyGuard work for both male and female dogs?
Yes! We know the struggle — dogs often circle and shift before choosing their spot, which can make it tough to keep everything on the pad. The three-sided panel helps guide both male and female dogs to stay on the pee pad. For males, the panels and hydrant support natural leg-lifting behavior, while for females, the guard system helps prevent spills on the floor.
How can I encourage my dog to use the hydrant?
Yes. Before the first use, it is beneficial to scent the hydrant with either your dog’s urine or a pee training spray. You can do so by wiping a soiled pee pad or cleaning up a past accident and rubbing it on the hydrant to draw your dog to it.

What kind of pee pad fits the base?
Our silicone floor mat is 25"x20" so standard-sized pee pads fit perfectly inside the base. A pee pad of 30"x24" is included with every kit.
